Here's a walkthrough of how our delivery methods work in checkout:

For a more thorough step by step:

To add a new delivery method, go to your delivery methods screen and click on Add delivery method

At the top of the delivery methods' screen, you can choose Domestic or Local delivery

  • Name of delivery method
Next, you'll name the delivery method as you want it to appear as in checkout, along with a note (optional) that'll appear just underneath the name.

  • Shipping rate per delivery is how much your customers will pay for this delivery method, which can be set for different price points with the Min & Max prices.

  • For example, you can set a $15 delivery for orders $0 - $100 and $0 shipping for orders $100 - no limit. That way you can offer one delivery method with multiple price points for different cart sizes.

  • Delivery rate for your loyal customer is how much loyal customers pay for this delivery method. You can make it free or a lower number for loyal customers to pay. Loyal customers are by default customers who have ordered 3 or more times previously, but this rule can be customized by you at any time. You can also include a description/note that will show for loyal customers who qualify for this reduced shipping option.

Recommended delivery service is which delivery service connected to your account you'd like to appear first when assigning orders from this delivery method.

Optional: Custom blackout dates are for setting date ranges during which this delivery method is automatically inactive.

In Delivery promise settings you set how the delivery's expected arrival date is communicated in checkout, and underneath it you'll set the minimum and maximum delivery days for this delivery method, or hours if you're adding a local delivery method. Then Set days not counted as business days for a delivery estimate where you can add weekends, holidays, and blackout date ranges so they don't count as business days in the delivery arrival calculation, and your delivery promise to customers stays as accurate as possible.

Location settings is where you'll set the delivery areas set for this delivery method. Only orders with shipping addresses within your delivery area will see this delivery method.

  • Set your delivery area level as the whole country, certain states, certain cities, and by zones and zip codes.

  • Once you decide on the level of your delivery area, you'll pick how to specify the area: by entering a list of states or cities (or streets if you're adding a local delivery method), using a pen tool to draw an area, enter the cities or states for the area's borders, or simply enter an address and a distance from that address to include.

  • Under the map, enter places to exclude.

  • You can export the full list of places once you've set it (this is great for the shipping details section of your website).

Optional: Shipping rules is where you can set cart conditions for who sees this delivery method.

In Days and times active you can set the schedule for when this delivery method will be active (or you can keep the delivery method active 24/7). You can also limit the number of orders or unfulfilled orders accepted for this delivery method. Once that limit is reached per day, the delivery method won't be active or shown anymore.

Click save in the top right of the screen, and that's it!
