Before you begin:

  • If you're using the Shopify Plus / Shopify Advanced plans jump down to the 1️⃣ below

  • If you're on the Shopify plan - reach out to Shopify Support and ask them to activate "third-party carrier calculated rates" (FYI, Shopify charges a monthly fee for this)

  • If you're on Shopify's Starter or Basic - upgrade to a Plus or Advanced plans

It's time to set up your delivery methods in checkout to increase your checkout conversion rate and offer delivery options, based on their orders and shipping destination. Plus, knowing when each order is expected to arrive makes it easy to deliver it on time. 👇

1️⃣ Activate a delivery method

In PrettyDamnQuick, go to your delivery methods screen, and activate at least one delivery method in PrettyDamnQuick. You can activate one of the default delivery methods there or add one yourself. Once a delivery method is activated in PrettyDamnQuick, it'll automatically appear in your checkout.

Set up the delivery methods you'd like to offer and the areas you'd like to offer them. We recommend starting with the 3 defaults we've included in your account.

Here's a bit more about the 3 default delivery methods.

2️⃣ Disable Shopify's delivery methods

Go to your Shopify account's shipping and delivery section and disable the shipping rates there so you don't have them appear twice (once from Shopify and once from PrettyDamnQuick).

First, make sure PDQ's delivery method is activated:

  • Next to Your rates you should see Carrier and app rates (otherwise, check that you've turned on at least one delivery method in PrettyDamnQuick)

  • Under that, make sure there's Shipping & Delivery Platform listed

Then, delete all the rates under Your rates by clicking on the 3 dots on the right side and then clicking Delete.

...until you're left with no Shopify rates, just your PrettyDamnQuick rates, which are called Shipping & Delivery Platform.

Want to keep your Shopify delivery methods too? you can leave Shopify rates in your checkout, but it'll be hard to deliver on time without knowing a delivery date for it. Orders that come in from Shopify delivery methods automatically have a default delivery promise of 5 days instead of the real delivery promise you set for your PrettyDamnQuick delivery methods.

3️⃣ Activate Shopify's backup shipping rates

On the same Shipping and delivery tab in your Shopify settings, activate Shopify's backup rates so that if our rates are unavailable, a backup rate will be displayed.

In Settings, go to Shipping and delivery and under CUSTOM SHIPPING RATES:

check the checkbox by Show backup rates when app or carrier rates aren't available.

That's it! Now you can set up as many delivery methods as you like from your Delivery Methods screen.
