Adding a Shipping protection option at checkout offers customers peace of mind by providing an optional insurance policy for their purchases, safeguarding against loss, theft, or damage during transit for a nominal fee.

And unlike other shipping insurance services, you can keep 100% of the revenue generated from this upsell.

Getting set up is easy

  • Go to Delivery Methods > Checkout Components > Digital Upsell.

Here's a quick overview -

The first field is the code you can add to your checkout to add this upsell

Now you can customize it -

  • Title – give your item a name (in the below screenshot this is 'Extra Protection')

  • Description text - add some descriptive text (below this is 'Get Extra Protection with your Order!")

  • Upload an image - this will appear as an icon (like the box and checkmark below)

  • Set the price using either a Fixed Rate or Percentage of the order

  • By choosing 'Auto-select this digital item at checkout’ this shipping protection option will be added to the cart automatically during checkout; if left unselected, customers have the option to manually select it

  • Enabling Tooltip for extra details allows customers to gain a better understanding of this Digital Item by providing a Tooltip (Title and Body) accessible through the β“˜ icon next to the item's title.

Custom Order Tags

By adding a Tag name to the Digital Item, all corresponding orders will be associated with that Tag, simplifying order management through the Search Tags option on the Verify, Assign, and Track screen in the PDQ platform.

To sum up, Shipping Protection in Checkout is a great way to increase order value for you, and a great value-add for customers. It's more than a safety net for customers, it provides reassurance for their purchases, ensuring they are safeguarded against any unforeseen mishaps. Plus, the setup is easy, requiring just a few simple steps to secure protection for their orders.
