PDQ Dynamic Reviews is a Shopify checkout extension that displays product ratings and reviews directly in the checkout experience. It supports three display layouts, each with different placement requirements in Shopify's checkout editor.
1. Rating Badge
The Rating Badge shows star ratings and reviews count inline next to each cart item. Because it renders inside the cart line items, it must be placed as a child block of the Items in cart component — not anywhere else in the checkout layout.
Setup Steps:
1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Checkout → Customize.
2. In the checkout editor, locate the Order summary section in the left sidebar.
3. Click Add block and select PDQ Dynamic Reviews from the app blocks list.
4. Drag the block so it is nested inside Items in cart (not above or below it).
5. Save your changes.
Important: The block must sit inside Items in cart to render correctly next to each product. If placed outside this component, the rating badge will not display.

2. Review Carousel / Review List
The Review Carouse / Listl displays is a standalone block — it does not need to be placed inside any specific component.
Setup Steps
6. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Checkout → Customize.
7. In the checkout editor, click Add block in the section where you want reviews to appear.
8. Select PDQ Dynamic Reviews from the app blocks list.
9. Drag the block to your preferred position within the checkout layout (e.g., below the cart summary, above the payment section).
10. Save your changes.
The Review Carousel / List can be placed anywhere in the checkout — there are no nesting requirements. Choose a position that keeps it visible without cluttering the main checkout flow.
