Adding a PDQ Extension to your Shopify checkout

How to install any PDQ extension via the Shopify token, works for one extension or many

Connecting a PDQ extension to your Shopify checkout is done through a token — a unique code that links your configured extension in PDQ to the corresponding block in Shopify's checkout editor. The process is the same for every PDQ extension.

If you're running more than one extension, each one has its own token. You'll paste each into its matching Shopify block individually.

Step 1: Complete your extension setup in PDQ

Before heading to Shopify, configure the extension in PDQ and click Save. The token is generated automatically when the extension is created and is always available in the Settings tab under Token for Shopify.

Step 2: Copy the token

  1. Open your extension in PDQ and go to the Settings tab.

  2. Find the Token for Shopify section.

  3. Click the copy icon next to the token field to copy it to your clipboard.

Step 3: Add the extension block in Shopify

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Checkout → Customize.

  2. This opens the checkout editor, where you can edit blocks on the checkout's shipping page.

  3. Click Add block to see the list of available PDQ components.

  4. Select the extension you want to add.

  5. In the block's settings panel, paste the token you copied from PDQ into the corresponding token field.

Then paste the token from PDQ:

Step 4: Save and publish in Shopify

Once the token is pasted, save your changes in Shopify. The extension is now live and visible to customers during checkout.

If you have multiple PDQ extensions, repeat Steps 2–4 for each one — make sure to copy the correct token for each extension and paste it into its matching block in Shopify.
