Integrating a helpdesk with PDQ (Gorgias, Zendesk, Richpanel)

Automatically create support tickets/tasks from PDQ shipping events

PDQ connects to Gorgias, Zendesk, and Richpanel the same way it connects to Gladly: PDQ creates a task/ticket in your helpdesk when an order hits a status you care about (late, failed delivery, needs address fix), so support can act before the customer emails.

Before you begin

  • Admin permission in your helpdesk to create an API token

  • Access to PDQ Settings → Integrations

  • A designated inbox/queue for PDQ-created tickets (recommended, to keep them organized)

Step 1 - Create an API token in your helpdesk

Generate an API token (and note any required subdomain/agent email) in Gorgias, Zendesk, or Richpanel. Copy it somewhere safe.

Step 2- Connect in PDQ

Settings → Integrations → find your helpdesk → Connect → enter the credentials (typically subdomain, agent email, API token) and select the destination inbox.

Step 3 - Activate recipes

Enable the recipes that should create tickets (e.g. LATE, FAILED_TO_DELIVER, FIX_ADDRESS). Nothing is created until at least one recipe is active.

Troubleshooting

  • Tickets not appearing → confirm the right inbox, an active/valid token with the right permissions, and at least one enabled recipe.

  • Firing on some orders only → check the recipe's conditions.

(Gladly follows this exact pattern — see Integrating Gladly with PDQ.)
