Each PDQ shipping method is tied to a delivery service. Here's how to check which one a method uses and switch it - for example, moving a method from "FedEx International Connect Plus" to "FedEx International Priority."
1. Open the method
In Shipping Rate Groups, find the method → ⋮ → Edit, expand the delivery services list, and search for the service you want to see whether it's available and selected.
2. Enable the service on your carrier account (if it isn't listed)
If the service isn't in the list, it needs to be enabled on the carrier account first:
Go to Settings → Delivery Services, find the carrier (e.g. FedEx), ⋮ → Edit.
Enable the service you need and click Save delivery service.
⚠️ Carrier verification (FedEx and other carriers that require it): enabling a new service triggers a 6-digit verification PIN, sent by the carrier to the email or phone on your carrier (FedEx) account. The account owner must retrieve that PIN and enter it to activate the service. Until it's entered, the service stays in "Verification Pending," which blocks that service and can cause delivery issues.
📌 In practice, your PDQ contact may start this change and ask you for the PIN, since it's sent to your carrier account - have it handy.
Note: not every carrier needs a PIN - this applies to carriers with a registration/verification step, like FedEx.
If a correct PIN won't validate: it's sometimes a temporary connection timeout between PDQ and the carrier - not a wrong code. Wait a moment and try again; if it keeps failing, contact PDQ support rather than requesting many new PINs.
3. Select it on the method
Once the service shows as Active, go back to the method, select the service, and Save.
