A cutoff timer on your product-page delivery promise shows shoppers how long they have to order to still get a given delivery date - e.g. "Order within 2h 15m." It adds urgency and is part of your Product Page Delivery Promise setup.
Where to set it up
In PDQ, open your Product page delivery-promise settings. How you enable the timer depends on your Extension mode (Settings tab):
Basic mode
On the Fastest delivery date and/or Cheapest delivery date block, tick Show order cut-off timer. Each block has its own.
Advanced mode
In the Configurations component builder, toggle on the Order cut-off timer component and set:
Position - Linked to Delivery Date (the timer sits with the promise) or Standalone.
Display message - e.g.
Order within {time_left}, where{time_left}is the live countdown.
How it works
The timer counts down to the shipping cutoff for the shown delivery date. When the cut-off passes, the promise updates to the next available date and the timer resets for the next cut-off. If a display rule then hides the option (e.g. "don't show if arrival is more than X days away"), your Fallback Message shows instead.
Preview: the right-side Preview shows the promise with and without the timer; use Preview in test mode to see it live, hidden from customers.
📌 Not the same as the checkout timer: this is the product-page cutoff timer. For a countdown inside the Shopify checkout ("Order within 34m for delivery via Standard Shipping"), that's the separate Delivery Countdown Timer checkout extension.
